AgingEmpowered is excited to welcome gerontological researcher, educator, and practitioner,  Liz Dreifuss to the team! Liz is the Care Navigation and Consulting intern for the Spring 2020 semester, at the end of which she will earn her Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Missouri.  Liz joins AgingEmpowered with a wealth of experience in aging research teams, senior living, and health and recreation centers; she is eager to further her research and practice in case management and consulting.

When Liz isn’t studying or serving in the field of aging, she fosters her own healthy aging process by working out and staying active in the great outdoors, spending time with friends, and traveling.  Some of her favorite trips include Galway, Ireland, where she did an internship at an adult day center; Lake Como, Italy; London, England; Sedona, Arizona; and Denver, Colorado, where she plans to live after graduation.

Liz is passionate about working in the field of applied gerontology because there is something new and exciting to learn and do every day.  Liz feels a sense of purpose helping and older adults and their families thrive and achieve enhanced well-being. As a gerontologist, Liz recognizes the need for specially trained and skilled professionals to serve the aging population. One of her greatest goals is to advocate and improve the lives of older adults in innovative ways throughout her career.   And…she is quick to affirm—older adults are just FUN!

While with AgingEmpowered, Liz will assist families with full-cycle care navigation as well as develop a workshop to help professional caregivers in senior living collaborate with family caregivers for enhanced well-being of older adults and their families. Liz is also excited to be the curator for AgingEmpowered’s social media education and inspiration shares! Liz will also be creating a monthly blog post highlighting evidence-based solutions on the topic of aging, caregiving, and family gerontology. After graduation, Liz plans to relocate to Denver, Colorado (one of her favorite places to visit!) to work for a reputable, progressive senior living company.
